Free MSW/New Clinician Support Group
What to Expect:
Come as you are.
Sessions will be conversational rather than lecture-based. Depending on the topic, meetings may include facilitated discussion, education, reflection prompts, practical strategies, shared experiences, and opportunities to connect with other MSW/MH professional students and newer clinicians.
Participation in discussion is encouraged but there is no expectation that you share anything you aren't comfortable sharing.
What This Group Is Not:
This is a support and educational group, not a psychotherapy group or clinical supervision.
Participation does not establish a therapist-client relationship with Sarah Nucero, LCSW. The group does not provide diagnosis, treatment, crisis services, clinical supervision, or supervision toward professional licensure.
Participants should not share identifying or confidential information about clients during group discussions.
A space to connect, reflect, learn, and feel a little less alone while becoming the clinician you’re working toward.
Meets the second Sunday of the Month 9:30-10:30AM
What This Group Is:
Graduate school and the early years of clinical work can come with a combination of learning, responsibility, uncertainty, and pressure to already know what you’re doing.
This free virtual group offers MSW (and MH professionals) students and newer clinicians a supportive space to talk openly about those experiences, learn practical strategies, hear different perspectives, and connect with others navigating similar stages of professional development.
You don't need to have a particular problem to attend. Come with a question, a topic that's been on your mind, or simply a desire to connect with other people who get it.
Topics we May Explore:
Imposter syndrome and feeling "not ready"
Burnout and emotional exhaustion
Work-life balance and sustainable helping
Receiving feedback and building confidence
The pressure to know everything
Self-awareness vs. self-doubt
Nervous system regulation and managing stress
Developing your professional identity
Navigating difficult interactions
Boundaries, expectations, and emotional load
Staying connected to yourself while helping others
Transitioning from student to professional
Topics can also be shaped by the interests and experiences of group members.
This group may be a good fit if you are:
Currently enrolled in an MSW program, completing field placement/internship, recently graduated, or in the early stages of your social work/clinical career.
About the Facilitator
Sarah Nucero, LCSW
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience in behavioral health, clinical leadership, supervision, and integrated mental health and substance use services. I created this group as an accessible space for developing social workers and clinicians to connect around some of the parts of becoming a professional that aren't always captured in a textbook or classroom.
This group is offered through The Steady Practice, an extension of my work focused on creating accessible opportunities for reflection, education, connection, and sustainable well-being.
